Took a break from #NRS502 revision this afternoon to enjoy some fresh air. No walk on the beach but I did enjoy a vegan whippy from Perranporth and some retail therapy.

Another week of placement completed. Really pleased to receive such encouraging feedback yesterday, from both a patient and the nurse I was working with 😊

When you are struggling with uni and feel the as a whole, our cohort is less than approachable or supportive. However, the kindness of one of my fellow students made a difference today. Made me feel emotional when I struggle to even make it into uni at the moment.

Zoom revision for next weeks pathophysiology exam. It's reasuring that I know more than I thought. Hopefully it sticks 🤞 #Nrs501 #puncpet

Met placement this morning who are very nice, looking forward to learning in an outpatient environment. Super greatful to whoever marked my pathophysiology exam because I actually passed. Not ashamed to admit I may have cried a little because I needed a little bit of hope.

Had a great first week of placement. Starting to learn about blood transfusions, iron and immuoglobulin infusions and today I got to take blood from patients for the first time. The team I have worked with have been lovely and encouraging, which has helped my confidence already 😊

12 years ago today, I lost my dad due to lung and brain cancer. He spent his final days being cared for by the amazing team at St Julia's hospice. I am now a 2nd year student nurse waiting to find out if I have been luckily enough to get accepted there as my optional placement🤞

A cockchafer (may bug) knocked on the door to say hello tonight 🥰 I love this time of year and the excitement it brings of different animals emerging in our gardens. Love all creatures, great and small ☺️

Sad day today. We found a fledgling in our garden. Initially appeared well, slight head till but walking and flapping OK. Monitored over a few hours but had to take it to emergency vets due to laying on its side and appearing lethargic. Unfortunately, it had to be euthanized:(

An important day for the country to make our voices heard. It's a chance to vote for what we believe in or, in most cases, vote against what we dont. I have only been voting since 2019, it's never too late to start. #dogsatpollingstations #EveryVoteCounts

Enjoying some leisurely reading to help ease the anxiety of joining a new nursing cohort next week to repeat my second year. If there are any #punc23 on here from Truro, please do send a message to say hi 🙂

First proper lecture and seminar resitting the module with my new year 2 cohort today. Any anxieties I had about not knowing anyone banished on induction day. Everyone has been so welcoming and friendly ☺️ #punc23

I need to upgrade my laptop due to my current one being about 10 years old and extremely slow. Looking for recommendations, it will mostly be used for uni work.

Toinette Benney (@toinettepunc22) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I never imagined going to uni, never thought I was "smart" enough. Being dyslexic definitely makes it more difficult with information sinking in slower, taking a lot longer to research and write assignments. However, it doesn't make it impossible, with the right support.

Failed nursing student here. Does anyone have any idea of more hands on clinical jobs that you dont need to be a nurse for or can do short courses? Be a shame for the last 4 years of my life be a waste and £51k and nothing to show for it to just be a carer again.

Only now sunk in that I'm never going to be a nurse and I'm a complete failure. I will never have a job my parents would have been proud of.
