Had fun at Mcguffey Elementary today teaching the kindergarten classes about monarch butterflies and milkweed plants. Students did a great job planting seeds for them to care for in their classrooms!

Proof hoop houses work. Even in Ohio's brutally cold stretches this year, my spinach kept going! The double layer kept kale, beets, and radish going! So the 2018 growing season starts today with more spinach, kale, radish, beet, lettuce and carrot going in!

Is Mother Nature teasing us? I think so! Crocus blooming and tulips popping at our greenhouse at Heritage Middle School!

Very productive day today! Started getting the new blueberry, raspberry, and blackberry beds ready at our new garden on 6th Street. Going to finish tilling in the compost, let it work for a couple weeks, then the berries can be moved from Everett park to here!

Even on rainy days there is plenty to done! Getting lots of herbs transplanted, and planting more in prep for the Canal Farmers Market, as well as for our gardens. Adding cilantro, lemon mint, lemon balm, chives, savory, catmint, tarragon, marjoram, and chamomile today!

Attention all friends of Together We Grow!! I am in need of the following to help me organically amend the soil in two gardens we are expanding: wood ashes from a fireplace, egg shells and any compost, sulfur, bone meal, and kelp meal. Please message me here, or on our website!

The hoop house within a hoop house is working wonders! Spinach, lettuce, beets, radish, and kale are all up and growing, with the carrots not far behind! Going to have a great crop of early greens this year!

Fruit trees have arrived!! Looking for volunteers to help me get them in the ground as soon as the weather allows! 12 apple, 6 peach, 4 cherry, 4 apricot, 4 plum, and 6 kiwi, totaling 16 different varieties!

Very busy day today trying to beat the upcoming rain, but the highlight is getting 3 more fruit trees planted, this time at Heritage Middle School. Only 8 more to go!

Huge thank you to Wilson's Garden Center for starting 12 varieties of tomato and pepper seedlings for us! We picked them up today, and had a FANTASTIC group of volunteers come out and help get them transplanted. Thank you volunteers! We couldn't do it without you!!!
