On this day in history, Valentino Rossi and Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP put themselves in the history books forever.

It was a privilege to be there that weekend and to commentate on such a pivotal race for the path of the whole sport as it drew in so many new fans and energised others.

It's great to see Vinales winning a MotoGP race with his third manufacturer, but it just dawned on me that it was Livio Suppo who as a MotoGP Team Principal guided three manufacturers to victory (and two World Championships) first.

I don't often do #MotoGP tech. But I got a lead from a TV cameraman, who also does #F1 .
Along with some grainy images, he explained he saw a rear wing tip on the straight, #F1 DRS style.
MotoGP™🏁 is increasingly aero lead, downforce giving grip, but also drag slowing top speeds.

Sure he’s good and great to see but don’t forget Lorenzo was pole on his first three MotoGPs and won his third, Pedrosa won his fourth and Marc M won his second big race. 🤗
