Keep your eyes out for areas that are flashing, now that warmer temperatures and drier air are causing the upper rootzone to dry out a little more. It's a great time for nematicides on greens with a history of nematode damage.

Bermudagrass mites tend to prefer roughs but here's what damage looks like on short grass. Images were received this morning. They should remain active, or I should say visible, until summer rains begin.

A great photo shared today from Ross Braun on today's webcast! A simple yet effective demonstration of the benefits of turfgrass systems for your next First Green field trip.

A busy week on the road was made easier with the discovery of this little gem of a restaurant that had food that nourished the soul. It was a buffet with fried chicken livers and gizzards, collards greens and fried ribs, among other delicacies! I ate there 2 days in a row, 🤣!

Innovative collar enhancement program of washing PGRs off with water as soon as an application is made to the putting green. Heath Booker at Seminole Legacy previously struggled during cooler winter months to the point of considering regrassing with another variety.

Seashore paspalum "contamination" at different golf courses has been showing off the past few days. First image showing off where bermudagrass mites are active and second image showing off its salt tolerance (two important factors at this time of year).

To plug or not to plug, that is the question. Turf managers would rather nurse it back to health. If we can recover rather quickly, then let it run its course but plugging helps in slow recovery times. Hoping warmer weather will now encourage better recovery!

Another interesting observation this week was from a seashore paspalum green that was "flashing" from localized drying from high winds and low humidity. Could it be that greener patches were colonized by some fungal organism, which may have aided to moisture retention? 🧐🤷🏻‍♂️

Seeing mites everywhere in south Florida on bermudagrass. Some courses are worse than others! Seeing them on both fairways and roughs. Images show initial symptoms can sometimes be nearly unnoticeable but can progress as we continue to stay drier/saltier.

The dry and windy conditions (with no flushing rains) are causing some flashing on putting greens. I suspect nematodes in these isolated pockets.
