We’re celebrating the grand opening of Clackamas Village & 24 new pod shelters for transitional housing. More than shelter, residents will receive the support they need to make the transition to permanent housing. Congratulations to everyone who helped make this vision a reality.

Reckless and mean. That's how l'd describe the cuts to Medicaid and SNAP that the Republican majority in Congress just passed. Their bill to pay for tax breaks for the ultra rich will hurt people and is morally indefensible.

Thank you to the Amity High School students, staff, and partners who are building transitional homes through Team Oregon Build to help Oregonians who need shelter from the streets or after a disaster. I was so impressed by the students’ skills and sense of mission. Truly awesome.

In March, I teamed up with Mayor Keith Wilson to launch a task force to speed up housing construction in Portland. This month, we proposed suspending fees on new housing for up to 3 years – or until 5,000 homes are built.
