Who we are in the face of adversity is an opportunity to be our very best selves. There is no sacrifice more noble, no pledge to the public more honorable. That extends to their families as well.

I was proud to stand in solidarity with workers and our immigrant communities at the May Day rally in Salem. Workers’ rights are human rights!

I was excited to sign a law to fund summer learning programs. We’ve committed to investments for the next 3 summers, so educators and communities can start planning early. Keeping kids reading and engaged year-round helps them be successful!

We’re celebrating the grand opening of Clackamas Village & 24 new pod shelters for transitional housing. More than shelter, residents will receive the support they need to make the transition to permanent housing. Congratulations to everyone who helped make this vision a reality.

While it may take months to fully understand the impact of the new tariffs, it’s important to underscore the potential consequences for Oregon businesses.

I urge every Oregonian to get outside and lend a hand to keep our parks and natural areas clean and beautiful. Together, we can enjoy and maintain this beautiful state in big and small ways.

I was pleased to join Oregon League of Conservation Voters's Annual Celebration for the Environment. As your Governor, Oregon will continue to lead on clean energy, climate action, and environmental protections.

Since my first day in office, I’ve been focused on making it easier to build housing so people can find a home they can afford. Portlanders need progress, and I am proud to partner with Mayor Keith Wilson to support new incentives for developers. opb.org/article/2025/0…

This shelter means a warm, safe, private space for at least 24 people at a time. It means the first step toward stability for people who have been homeless for more than a year. Here they will find hope, and they will receive health care, good meals, and life-changing support.

Reckless and mean. That's how l'd describe the cuts to Medicaid and SNAP that the Republican majority in Congress just passed. Their bill to pay for tax breaks for the ultra rich will hurt people and is morally indefensible.

Thank you to the Amity High School students, staff, and partners who are building transitional homes through Team Oregon Build to help Oregonians who need shelter from the streets or after a disaster. I was so impressed by the students’ skills and sense of mission. Truly awesome.

In March, I teamed up with Mayor Keith Wilson to launch a task force to speed up housing construction in Portland. This month, we proposed suspending fees on new housing for up to 3 years – or until 5,000 homes are built.

This is movement in the right direction. We need to sustain efforts to increase access to mental health and addiction treatment in Oregon to continue this progress. kgw.com/article/news/h…

Oregon’s 36-year-old Oregon Groundwater Quality Protection Act needs a refresh. Senate Bill 1154 would provide state-level coordination and expectations to safeguard Oregon’s groundwater quality for generations to come. opb.org/article/2025/0…
