BREAKING: Mike Pence has just announced that he cannot in good conscience vote for Donald Trump. Retweet to make sure every American sees this clip.

My new The Hill article explains how both Trump and Harris promote terrible economic policies to cater to widespread voter ignorance. Trump's are somewhat worse, because easier to enact without new legislation. But both still awful. thehill.com/opinion/486068…

This awful thread went viral just when understanding the evil of appeasing dictators is most needed. Community notes have corrected only the superficial errors. Notably missing is Nazi/Axis aggression well before 1939, but also a rational perspective on just war.

Ben Bayer (@benbayer) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The post ignores the 1934 Nazi assassination of the Austrian chancellor, the 1935 Italian invasion of Ethiopia, the 1936 rearmament of the Rhineland (in violation of Versailles), and of course the full significance of the Austrian Anschluss and annexation of Czechoslovakia.

Ben Bayer (@benbayer) 's Twitter Profile Photo

More significantly, it pretends punishments on Germany for its aggression in WWI actually justified Hitler’s revenge, as though blockades were not part of wars and leaders of nations are solely responsible for the mass collective action of an unjust war.

Ben Bayer (@benbayer) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Critics rightly point out that Hitler’s calls for peace made little sense after annexations of Austria, Czechoslovakia, and invasion of Poland. They miss that the post pretends British pin pricks vs. the (totally unmentioned) May 1940 invasion of Belgium were British acts of war!

Churchill was far from perfect. But he observed keenly the results of one act after another of appeasing Axis aggression through the 1930s. It’s not remotely plausible that the fault was anyone other than the Axis.

For details, see this volume I’m currently reading, Tim Bouverie’s *Appeasing Hitler: Chamberlain, Churchill and the Road to War* (2019), which tells the full story from 1932 onward: amazon.com/Appeasing-Hitl…

I don’t know if he was the greatest leader ever, but he was one of two men—along with Leo Szilard—who literally saved the world in the 20th Century.

So Tucker Carlson is promoting Hitler supporters, and lots of the biggest right-wing podcasters turned out to be secretly bankrolled by the Russians? Guess what, I was right: noahpinion.blog/p/liberalism-i…
