Yesterday evening we had our end-of-year event with partners and friends from the University of Stuttgart, as well as from other universities, research institutes and industry.

As every year, Prof. Ricken together with Dr.-Ing. Keller held a whiskey tasting for the winners of the Schnittkraftmeister competition in the Applied Mechanics lecture. This was an opportunity to test the taste buds for various strains.

For the ISD colloquium, Zubin Zubin Trivedi presented his progress in the use of fuzzy arithmetic to quantify uncertainties in experiment, simulation models and the combination with LS-OPT's optimization feature for uncertainty analysis on a finite element model of a pressure tank.

Thrilled to share that our colleague, Marlon Suditsch, had the opportunity to present #OncoFEM at the German Cancer Congress 2024! OncoFEM, an Open Access Software, leverages patient-specific imaging data to solve mechanical boundary problems and predict tumor evolutions.

In the framework of the SPP1158 Antarctic Sea Ice project, we met in Bremerhaven at our partner institution, Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI), in the middle of February. With much motivation, we discussed our work progress and planned our future papers. Thank you for having us!

Last week, we were at the annual meeting of GAMM e.V. to present our work on auxetic structures, Antarctic sea ice, multiscale modeling, and liver transplantation. We had a wonderful time networking and exchanging interesting ideas while discussing our work. Thanks for having us!

In the presentation by our colleagues Marlon, Franzi, and Lena, they delved into the realm of porous media growth processes. Possible application scenarios are patient-specific simulations of cartilage, tumors in brain tissue, or fat distributions in the liver. #PorousMediaGrowth
