Successes at #COP27: ✅ Loss & damage fund focused on particularly vulnerable countries. ✅ Demand for MDBs to define a new vision & operational model equal to the climate crisis. ✅ Nuanced debate about responsibility & vulnerability beyond the developed/developing dichotomy.

Failures at #COP27: ❌ Inability to explicitly confront fossil fuels (indeed, oil & gas welcomed into the room by Egyptian Presidency). ❌ Carbon market loopholes will enable corporate greenwash. ❌ $100 billion commitment remains unmet, primarily due to shortfall from the US.

We are SO excited to be in Dar es Salaam for our second consortium-wide meeting! 🙌 Tomorrow is the official first day, but we’ve already been busy with city of systems, political settlements and domain workshops, and visits to five different neighbourhood projects today.

Day 2 of our Urban Reform Coalitions Conference kicks off with PASGR’s Martin Atela, who introduces the #UtafitiSera approach – including its emergence and how it brings actors together to form a community of practice, bridging the gap between research and policy action.
