Managed to pop out from Cecil Court to catch the VE Day flypast crossing Trafalgar Square, led by a lone Lancaster. The rain held off for just long enough for me to get back to the shop.

Did you know there are still around 1,300 working gas lamps in London? An increasing number are historically-listed structures, with some lamp-posts now 200 years old. Discover the history of London’s gas lamps and where you can find them in my new video youtu.be/rq5VWPT0GF8

Celebrating the 250th anniversary of J.M.W. Turner's birth with a new map by Adam Dant at the artist's birthplace on Maiden Lane - now the Porterhouse. Toasted Turner with a specially brewed porter and morsels of cheese (which is apparently what he used to serve to guests... )

Hello people in the West End of London, Pinda's lost a ring which belonged to my mum. If you're walking between Golden Square and Cecil Court this afternoon, and you spot a little Georgian gold ring set with seed pearls and purple-ish garnets, we'd be overjoyed to see it again.

Nice weather for ducks, but come and see us anyway! Cecil Court is in one of its Venetian moods (you need stepping stones to get from one side of the court to the other).

Unforgettable and restorative week exploring the sites and controversies of the seven ecumenical councils of the early church with Great St Bartholomew. Now back in Cecil Court and ready to debate with Arians, Nicenes, Nestorians or Monophysites... #Niceae1700

Weighing the merits of Dow's 1963, Warre's 1970 and Martinez 1963 (the rather subtle and interesting outlier). Port tasting with friends at Doppo on one of the hottest days of the year.

Network Rail and ACME's latest plans are on the planning portal at the City of London. The only way to combat this is to object by the 4th July on that planning portal. Our easy Guide to writing your own objection is here: bit.ly/3ZQRkk8 #heritage 🧵

Walking in the footsteps of 18th century map-maker John Rocque today, with Laurence Worms, Ashley, Sheila and friends. Including the site on Bond Street where John Pine engraved Rocque's 24 sheet map of London, and the site of his first premises.
