Once again, pupils from Watford Girls Grammar @wggstweet were wonderful in the STEM Saturday. It was CSI Dead on Time this year - developing critical thinkers under pressure. Two activity records equalled, 85% solved it and marvellous team Marple won with a top 5 score for 2018.

Students have been superb at applying new science and crisis management skills when an asteroid is identified as being on collision course with Earth in the 'Bunkered' workshop. This helps with the detection stage! thinkersineducation.co.uk/survival-horro… x.com/esa/status/100…

Our Space Race workshop has introduced these ideas to students for the past five years - and many still feel it's science fiction to begin with, before getting excited by what lies ahead of them as they realise it is starting to happen for real.

The New Wave Federation schools were hugely impressive in their first CSI workshops this week. Year 5 & 6 students all went head to head in our 'Body in the Box' workshop. After six 2-hour sessions over three days - Woodberry Primary claimed top slot with a truly amazing score.

Early in 2020, Yr 6 pupils from six schools came together to crack CSI:DEAD ON TIME & were a true inspiration for how to work as a team. Hosted Bede's Prep for the third time, players not only solved the mystery but demonstrated superb critical thinking and communication skills.

Girls in STEM Streatham & Clapham High School brilliantly prevented a global Pandemic! The long running workshop empowers students with the knowledge and techniques used to contain the 2014 Ebola outbreak and helps prevent hysteria about Covid-19. They were amazing.

We are thrilled to be involved with the Magna Carta School in the delivery of a programme to help students develop resilience, problem solving and thinking skills. Bunkered is a genuine challenge and Yr 8 should be proud of their fantastic efforts. A fabulous winning score too!

Bunkered is a really challenging strategy game - with DNA extraction, electronics and bunker design requiring in-depth learning and problem solving. Students from Magna Carta have truly excelled again this year and we hope this resilience training has long term benefits.

We were delighted to work with schools on the beautiful Isle of Bute @rothesay3to18 to boost STEM skills over 5 workshops. S1&S2 students smashed the UK Blood Pool record and parents were just as awesome in the family event.

Is it the end of the world? Not Magna Carta School - both Yr7 & Yr8 saved humanity when an asteroid hit Earth in Bunkered this week. It's just one of the workshops in a carefully planned programme the school have fully engaged with over the past year. They were truly awesome.

Today Year 10 step up to the CSI challenge & team Holmes have just equalled the record for Toxicology. A record first set in 2013 and never equalled until today! An absolutely superb start. But there's not much between teams after session one.

What a genuinely outstanding school Magna Carta School are. We have had the pleasure of working with pupils from Yr 7 to Yr 10 over the past two weeks - over a range of workshops - and every group has impressed us with their attitude and eagerness to learn. Staff were so welcoming.

Where are we? A true detective will know for sure! And there's no place better to say there is still time to book onto the Murder Mystery competitions coming up in Norwich after we finish our stint in the Capital tomorrow.
