Thanks to the wonderfully creative participants at our BISA - British International Studies Association panel, there’s now an impromptu exhibition of textile and collaged reflections on #BISA2029, the discipline and academia Threads, War and Conflict @StitchedVoices

This is such a great piece of embroidery. Made by a young mum, stuck at home and desperately trying to find inspiration for doing some creative sewing, she chose this. It’s her washing machine!

Lorina Bulwer, needle-worker incarcerated in the 'lunatic ward' of a UK Workhouse in 1894, created large scale samplers as a way to voice her experience, highlighting her protests at her treatment and grim conditions #womensart
