‘Knowledge is power & although people have right to know, if we open doors to diagnosis without support in place, it’s a pathway to depression & anxiety. We have to transitional support to decrease social isolation, which is a heavy burden, & increase confidence and wellbeing’

‘Meeting Centres aren’t rocket science. We don’t need anymore evidence around that. We probably have more papers written about Meeting Centres than we have Meeting Centres. We know they work. It’s not a lack of evidence. It a lack of funding’ 👏👏👏Dawn Brooker of Meeting Centres UK

Meet Willy (Willy Gilder). He credits the magic of The Beatles and @rollingstones, who created the music listened to in his youth with helping him reconnect with painting and drawing, a lifelong hobby he thought he’d lost following his diagnosis with Alzheimer’s Disease 💚

Great first day at #ADI2024 - Alzheimer's Disease International conference in Krakow. So far only got these "establishing shots" (+loads of pics of people's slides and posters) - will be sure to get an obligatory selfie by the ADI logo wall before the conference is out!

All smiles and dancing at the end of todays #ADI2024 session on non-pharmaceutical interventions. Ron Coleman delivered a fantastic presentation on the creation of the Scottish Dementia Arts Festival and Willy Gilder showcased his remarkable 9-minute audience portrait!

In shock to hear of the passing of the amazing Nigel Hullah. He was a good friend to us at ADS & never failed ensure the voices of people living with dementia were heard with characteristic wisdom and compassion. A huge loss to dementia advocacy and research in the UK. RIP Nigel.
