Without a 'scope, really hard to sort out the grey plover, knot, dunlin, godwit and sanderling at Cleethorpes high tide roost at 10am today. In total, 6,000+. Nearby there were 1,000+oystercatcher and c150 curlew.

Can anyone help me out with this duck species seen from afar on Cleethorpes tideline at 10am this morning? I suspect an oiled eider, but I'm not really sure.

First time in my life that I've been personally serenaded by a cuckoo. This bird on sea buckthorn fringe between saltmarsh and beach in Cleethorpes, near Grimsby, at 10.15am today.
