As a HWDSB educator I've observed Black, Indigenous and Muslim students experience harm because of police presence in schools (and often intervened). There's an extensive Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion (HCCI) report on this. Carceral forces which make even 1 child feel unsafe should not be in learning spaces.
