Piper enjoys interactions with people, even if it’s sitting quietly beside someone.  Patients, along with staff members, appreciate our visits and always stop to greet her.  She really is a wonderful, outgoing and gentle companion who loves meeting new people. #therapyarc

Piper and I have been visiting together for about 5 years at Stallworth. Patients look forward to our visits and can’t wait to pet her and spend a little time with her.  She’ll jump up on one of the mats (with permission of course), and will engage by laying or sitting next to a

therapist will direct the patient  to reach out to her and have them pet her as part of their individual therapy. My first therapy dog, River, and I became  involved with Therapy ARC in 2004.  On one occasion at Stallworth,  River and I were visiting with a patient and his

wife.Not long after that visit, I learned that the patient’s wife decided to become involved in Therapy ARC because of the positive affect River’s visit had on her husband’s recovery.  That was a very memorable moment. #therapyARC #nationaltherapyanimalday #humananimalbond
