Traffic news: Kingston Council proposals aim to stop people driving along Manorgate Road from the Park Road roundabout to Coombe Road, and along Wolverton Avenue from Coombe Road to Kingston Hill. Sort of a one-way system (like Birkenhead Avenue). Councillors discuss next week.

Taken 66 years ago, this photograph of a busy Apple Market gives a glimpse into Kingston life in February 1959! The area was historically known for selling fresh produce since at least the 17th century, which is likely where it got its name 🍎 (Image reference: K1-2357)

On #IWD2026, we celebrate some remarkable women associated with Richmond Park. First, Sylva Boyden, pioneer parachutist, who on 28th February 1919 was the first woman to make a parachute jump, testing an experimental design, from a tethered balloon in the Park. 1/

Richmond Council has voted to switch ebike partner from Lime Bikes to Forest Bikes. Kingston selected Forest a few years ago - not sure what the terms were, but North Kingston is still dominated by Lime Bikes. Will be interesting to see what impact last night's decision has.
