The upcoming CCSD Trustees races are critical for the future of our education system. Here is a reference guide for the candidates that is worth your time to review bit.ly/2WaGRj6

Excellent information contained with Council of Great City Schools report on #SPED within CCSD particularly the “Context Matters” portion. TY to Ed professionals for great efforts with students, despite pathetic resources and harmful action from #nvleg @SuptJaraCCSD

Students probably wont remember what was taught specifically during this pandemic, but they will remember how their teachers cared for them and checked on them. Much like how I still remember my teachers from decades ago.

Principals, you don't just hire teachers, but you invest in them. That's why mentoring, coaching, and support are critical to their success and student achievement.

Annual Teacher Attrition Rate nationally is 8%. CCSD the last 4 years was 9%. Recruitment/Onboarding costs are approx $21,000 per teacher. That's 34.5M a year. Imagine the loss of experience, or social/emotional impact on students. Time to revive the profession and end the exodus

I don't understand why the district who distributed Chromebooks for their students couldn't return their personal bagged belongings in the same way. Hope no one is moving out of state or or out of country this summer b/c you are not getting your stuff back kids!

Assemblywoman Brittney Miller Theodore (Theo) Carrillo-Small Preach!! It's baffling to me that CCSD doesn't do exit interviews to find the "why" for all of this hemorrhaging of staff. Every. Single. Year. Should be done at the Region Superintendent level, with ESEA or CCEA representation too.

Cheri Raymond Assemblywoman Brittney Miller Theodore (Theo) Carrillo-Small Yes!!! Exit interviews are key, and any respectable business I have worked for is eager to determine why their employees are leaving. CCSD also needs to conduct interviews/surveys when a teacher transfers within the district.

Jordana McCudden ❄️ Lloyd Assemblywoman Brittney Miller Theodore (Theo) Carrillo-Small Totally separate issue, but CCSD needs to stop calling it "voluntary transfer" when the current admin holds the cards and can block your transfer by bashing you to new admin. Too many teachers are stick with bad admins bcuz of this.
