Finally got to see The Souvenir Part II tonight, it managed that extremely rare thing of actually living up to the hype. A beautiful, bold film brimming with humanity. So different to The Souvenir but together both films make for an epic masterpiece.

Of course I immediately ordered the special edition blu-ray of Joanna Hogg’s THE SOUVENIR (Part I & II). A masterpiece, a treasure.

Although she’s not new but an arthouse female auteur, a highlight of Joanna Hogg’s newly out The Souvenir 1&2 bluray for me is a 40-minute docu of exec producer Martin Scorsese gushing over & championing Hogg’s striking vision.
