Quick preview of some of the fun from our JYMS Band Cookout. I'm glad we had such a big turnout and that the students enjoyed themselves! Shout out to the Parent Committee who planned and got most of the prep done! (And to the OG Mr. DeFreeuw for grilling!)

The JYMS band crew still shows up in full force on the last day of school. Through all the bumps in the road, these kids are eager to keep coming back. Can't wait for more memories next year! (There's also some choir friends hanging with us, because music is family.)

The misconception that there is no sound in space originates because most space is a ~vacuum, providing no way for sound waves to travel. A galaxy cluster has so much gas that we've picked up actual sound. Here it's amplified, and mixed with other data, to hear a black hole!

Registrations and paperwork are filled out for all events for the JYMS Band program (there's a lot!). The 2022-2023 year is going to be busy, but it's all for the kids. I know my young musicians are ready to CHARGE FORWARD and put on a show!

And slowly the final touches of the band room come together. Shout out to the one and only Tiffany Carr for the awesome couch!
