By 2030 India will have more than 100 AMCs. Picking funds can still be easy if you don't expect every best fund to be in your portfolio.

Gold and silver has no valuation metrics they say.. Look at the amount of discussion around it ..the inflows in last 3 months ..stories circulating over whatsapp ..novice suddenly sounding like specialist These are better than any valuation metrics to figure out the peak

Came across one investor who has invested in just 3 funds since last 12 years and his portfolio has beaten market by over 3%. Very hard to achieve for many diy investors. Some investors are really smart and patient.

Investors who were chasing momentum and other smart beta indices got a reality check. Better to stick to pure marketcap based indices. Fancy stuff comes it its own cyclicality.

How to identify fund house with bad investment process. Just check on thing - whether all or most funds of the fund house underperform/outperform at the same time. Ignore such fund house at any cost. Any recent examples?

A brilliant Chart. We were walking from the 60s to 90s, other countries ran ahead of us. From 90s we have started running ahead of others but we have a long distance to cover.

Your flexi-cap fund may not be as flexi as you think. Many of them have been sitting on 70-85% large-cap stocks for years. Multi-cap funds — forced to stay diversified — have quietly outperformed them in 4 of the last 5 years. My story in this week’s ET Wealth.
