The #1921Census confirmed that my Great x2 Grandfather Joseph Rogers did work at Patent Shaft as a Driller for Bridge Girders between 1901 and approx 1930, as did his father from the late 1890s. They may have made bridges similar to this one in Dorset, threatened with demolition.
