The LEAFF program not only helps farmers to continue their farming business but more importantly, it helps communities to have fresh healthy choices without having to break the bank. Why limit something that brings value to the greater good?' ⁣

When LEAFF began in 2020 we had 47 farmers in the program & a guarantee to buy $7,500 per farm. In 2021, we had 40 farmers & a guarantee to buy $4,500 per farm. We were prepared to keep on with this 📉 trajectory

until we found out funding for LEAFF was included in the Governor's supplemental budget in Jan. What followed was a dizzying, but successful, campaign to secure funding for LEAFF in the supplemental ag omnibus (HR 3420) which passed both chambers and was signed into law in May.

Looking back, it's amazing to see what we were able to accomplish with this program in 2022. We couldn't have done this without The Food Group and @nmarhinos. Both partners helped distribute tons of fresh produce into the community. Thank you for being with us since the start!
