This is a fun one! Merritt Harlan found every beaded stream on earth from 80,000 Planet images and computer vision. PlanetLabs at scale is now possible! @uncglobalhydro and @TedLanghorst check it out-that fieldwork got used for something! sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

The #SWOT launch was the most incredible thing I've ever seen. No hyperbole. I didn't take any pictures but they wouldn't have done it justice. @uncglobalhydro and Toby did great on live TV. Now it's time for us to get to work on what we've prepped for a decade

#SWOT gotta do it right and add the photo! two decades of work crammed in that carbon faring on the top. Even as a gregarious person, I am still stumped as to how to describe the experience of watching that happen in person.

Goodbye Nepal! I have redefined 'mountain' now. I'll upload photos from my camera after I return!! This doesn't do it justice. Also, so so many ideas about rivers......

Here are some better photos of what it was like to visit real mountains and their rivers! Featuring Dhaulagiri, Machapuchare, Annapurna I, and Himchuli

Want a real method test? Let Peirong Lin run it globally. No hedging, no excuses! @CraigBrinkerhof geoBAM still strong, plenty for #SWOT to improve on This is the limit of optical widths-> discharge without Dongmei Feng global assimilation sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

A whole new view 🤩 🌊 First taste from the SWOT mission shows Earth’s water in higher definition than ever before. The spatial resolution of SWOT ocean measurements is 10 times greater than sea surface height data gathered over the same area by seven other satellites combined.

Early doors, but this is ridiculous and ridiculously encouraging. A long way until we've got heights, but my god that backscatter!!! If anyone needs me, I'll be processing data until November.

My yearly plea to please don't coerce grads by making their offers expire before April 15th! Your deadline becomes everyone's deadline. Students need time to make a major life choice, and advisors need time to cobble funding together. April 16th is the time for ultimata

With a group of mostly young hydrologists, we coauthored a paper to advocate water data sharing in China. See concrete numbers & survey results to support the narratives. We hope it helps to fill in the blanks on global river gauge maps. Shout out to lead author Lexi
