When we focus on 'managing risk' it can take us away from being alongside a person, it can actually increase isolation & distress. Important ofc to take risk seriously but needs to be done in a way that upholds a sense of relationship & connection. A caring, thoughtful approach.

Starting the academic year with plans, coffee and homemade cheese scones. Very excited to be launching our new #SideBySideCSA training. It’s the same #TheFlyingChildProject with a twist… #CSA #safeguarding #education #dsl #inset

Incredible book. I urge anyone who hasn't yet read this to download a copy. It is one of the most helpful, enlightening, supportive, brave, and courageous books I've ever read.

“Let’s work with our hearts as well as our minds” Such a lovely post from Cindy, the latest member of our team. We have so many exciting plans and can’t wait to get started with our training in schools. We will be working with all staff - empowering compassionate, informed

It’s an absolute privilege to be part of this project and The Flying Child CIC are looking forward to working with the rest of the team. "Child sexual abuse is not an illness or a physical wound. And yet recovery is spoken about in a language borrowed from medicine,” @ruthbeecher.bsky.social Dr Ruth Beecher

The audacity of a survivor of #CSA eh? To carve that niche, to open the door and step inside… I LOVE this. For the individual, Sophie, whom I love dearly, to the organisation, who are a thrilling addition to a movement against the silence and acceptance of child sexual abuse.

Dramatic sculpture to represent a lifetime living with trauma. Abuse doesn’t stop when it ends but therapy has given me the tools to live rather than merely exist. You can read about it in my memoir.

This is wonderful news. I know & admire Sophie Olson, founder of the Flying Child Project & Ruth Beecher who has held some powerful survivor, research & policy events, which I was honoured to attend. Best of luck to all involved!

Can anyone recommend a therapist (ideally humanistic) willing to work in-person with a male boarding school survivor, in London/south east?

The Flying Child (CIC) (@theflyingchild) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Thank you to everyone involved in Breaking The Boundaries Project for inviting us to take part. Pat and I really valued the opportunity to speak with Peter and Danica about our journey as client and therapist, boundaries in relationship-based practice, and to talk about our book

So thrilled to see child sexual abuse research getting the investment it needs and that survivors deserve - and brimming with pride to see friends Survivors Voices and The Flying Child (CIC) rightly at the helm. Cheering you all on! 📣🥰

This is the first year I turned down requests to deliver training on a September inset. It would have meant travelling across the UK and staying away from home. I wanted to be here for my youngest child on his first day back to school. He held my hand and chatted away. It’s his

I rarely seem to have the time to read as I’m always working! I do however try to make time to read survivor memoirs. I am particularly interested in reading about positive therapeutic experiences as I know how life changing they can be. Looking forward to reading this book by
