On 20th July, 3 months ago, our beloved father was called home to Heaven. He leaves a legacy that is so great that his spirit fills every room when we honour the love for tea, family & kindness to people & nature that he so faithfully & uncompromisingly stood for.

This afternoon we mark three months since the passing of our beloved father/grandfather and Founder of Dilmah. The traditional Memorial Service will be livestreamed at mjf.dilmahtea.com.

Magnificent morning sunshine followed by afternoon showers is what makes our Ceylon Breakfast Tea so bright, bold and elegant. This was Dunkeld Estate today. A tea grower’s dream, because it is nature that perfects fine tea, and our task to respect that influence of nature.

The Dilmah Centre for a Sustainable Future is the rebirth of the facility where Dilmah Tea was first produced in 1985. It’s purpose is kindness to people & nature and having Dr. Rohan Pethiyagoda & other eminent scientists & diplomats there was an honour.

We presented plans for more sustainable business in Sri Lanka at Global Compact Network's Compass 2024 last week. Amidst multiple crises, growing inequality & regress or stagnation on most Sustainable Development Goals, there is urgency to making our world livable.

We renewed a 15-year commitment to Sri Lankan elephants with the launch of a refurbished Dilmah 'Elephant Knowledge Walk' at the DWLC's Uda Walawe ETH. Awareness of species & ecosystem services is a precursor to their conservation. Check out my post ow.ly/xp8j50QVQk0
