Over the next couple of weeks, Year 5 pupils from a range of local primary schools will be visiting The Clere School for a taster day. Pupils will become 'Clere' explorers for the day, getting their passports stamped as they participate in exciting travel themed lessons.

Last GCSE examination.....done. Year 11 pupils are now looking forward to their Prom which will take place on Friday 29th June, and of course their results in August. We wish them all the best over the summer and with the next phase of their education and training.

Year 8 & 9 pupils have signed up to run their own Race for Life in school on 13th July in support of Cancer Research UK. The target is to raise £500 through donations or sponsorship. We would like to thank you in anticipation of your help and support for this event.

Yr 10 Hospitality & Catering students will visit the De Vere Wokefield Park Hotel, tomorrow. Peter Buckingham, Exec Head Chef, will share his knowledge of the hospitality & Catering industry. This will be followed by lunch at Newbury College, prepared by their catering students.

Talented musicians from Year 7 through to Year 10 visited Burghclere Primary School this morning to join in their spring music festival. They performed in front of the whole school, delivering truly outstanding performances on a range of instruments. Well done to those involved.

A group of Year 9 and 10 Computer Science pupils are visiting the National Science of Computing today, where they will be learning more about encryption and data security, how a computer works, binary and machine code, and the Internet. It should be a great learning experience.

Well done to Darcy Drummond in Year 8, on successfully reaching the final of the TeenStar UK singing and dancing competition. She has auditioned and competed with her dance group against hundreds of of different acts throughout the country. Good luck for the final Darcy!

A group of pupils visited an ‘Exploring Engineering’ event at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory today. They enjoyed interactive talks, workshops, a tour of the particle accelerators and explored the ISIS Neutron & Moron source. An opportunity to see science in the ‘real world’.
