Grand morning in Ireland, good to be back, on your toes day, barely woken up, walking down a corridor and someone says “looks like you could do with a cup of tea”, and promptly made me one. Felt like a lottery win. Game on

By chance, discovered two former teammates in the same place this afternoon so got them to meet, some 14 years later. The look on their faces, two second stand off, then off they went as if they’d seen each other every day since. I love that, and think they’re still talking now

Proper walk……

As I said far too long ago “sportspeople die twice”, as you’re either in, or you’re not, and then you’re referred to in the past tense the day you stop. Thankfully, good people out there to help the scary bit, and it can be utterly terrifying as everything changes, a lot
