We have never had a markup announced on SAFE in the Senate before! ...but we haven't had the vote yet! Keep up the pressure and join the thousands who have sent messages to their Senators now: actionnetwork.org/letters/action… RT to spread the word.

This small step has been a long time coming and I appreciate all the hard work of Rep. Jamie Raskin, Rep. Nancy Mace, and Earl Blumenauer and their teams. Still a legislatively long way to go for a small step, but a very good step to take nonetheless. marijuanamoment.net/watch-live-con…

With todays committee passage of the SAFE Banking Act, and thanks to the leadership of Senators Schumer and Booker who have fought tenaciously to ensure that the HOPE Act will receive a vote as an amendment when bill gets to the floor, we have a real opportunity to thoughtfully

The Marijuana Opportunity, Reinvestment, and Expungement (MORE) Act to legalize marijuana and expunge prior records got more votes (twice!) than Jim Jordan did. Also, Jim Jordan voted to maintain prohibition and criminalization both times.

The MORE Act to legalize marijuana has passed the House of Representatives 2 times in the last 3 years. Jim Jordan has lost in the House of Representatives 3 times in the last 2 weeks. There is a beautiful symmetry in the math, considering he supports marijuana prohibition.

“This highlights the growing fracture within the Republican caucus,” Justin Strekal said, “on those who want to double down on criminalization versus those who want to accept the legitimacy of states legalizing marijuana.” politico.com/news/2023/10/2…

Pete Sessions is possibly the most pro-criminalization member of the House of Representatives. Perhaps he can take the L, retire from Congress, and get the treatment he needs for all the hatred in his heart.
