Two-time major champion So Yeon Ryu says farewell at the Chevron Championship. The former world No. 1 is looking forward to getting out of the golf grind, to a life off the road, and perhaps a next career in golf course architecture.

Less than two weeks after Lottie Woad won the Augusta National Women's Amateur she's in the hunt heading into the weekend at the Chevron Championship. In her LPGA debut, Woad holds the best position by an amateur through 36 holes since 2000. She's currently T6 at 4-under par.

So Yeon Ryu says farewell after more than a decade on the LPGA Tour. She won six times, including two majors.

Angela Stanford is making her 98th consecutive major start this week with a goal of making it to 100, which would be a first on the LPGA. She won't say if she will walk away if she reaches her goal, but says when it comes to retirement 'when you know, you know.'

LPGA Commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan and Chevron CEO Mike Wirth announce the purse for this year's event will increase from $5.2 to $7.9 million. The winner will take home $1.2 mil and Chevron is extending their sponsorship to 2029.

Nelly Korda meets with the media The Chevron Championship ahead of her quest for a 5th straight win on LPGA Tour. When asked about the growth of women's golf and her recent success she says 'If we have a stage, we can show up and perform and show people what we're all about.'

Lydia Ko took advantage of the off week last week to work in person with coach Si Woo Lee. They usually communicate virtually with Lee based in Korea. Ko tells me she hit balls for six straight hours one day. The Chevron Championship

Rose Zhang says she came out to The Club at Carlton Woods in advance to get a look at the venue. She is coming off her first week off of the season, which she used to get settled in to her new residence in Las Vegas. 'I stayed home, ate good food, didn't do anything too crazy.'

The general manager at The Club at Carlton Woods tells me they have everything in place for a safe jump should the winner The Chevron Championship decide to leap into the lake beside the 18th green. Gator netting is in place again this year.
