We loved shows at the Guv

When I was a freshman in High School (2001)my friends and I would plot how we would somehow break free from Suburban Chicagoland and make a pilgrimage to the promised land: New Jersey. It seemed like at the turn of the century, everything we cared about was happening in Jersey.

Eventually we’d return with TAI to perform at Bamboozle (the Newly rebranded Skate & Surf Festival) in Asbury Park. The hotel was like something out of “Almost Famous.” Every band we had idolized just all in one place. Some even said they enjoyed our set!

Starland Ballroom, Stone Pony, House of Blues Atlantic City, some other incredible hot venue I can picture, but the name escapes me…. Might have been in Montclair? Some of the best moments in TAI history. We hope we can return to the Promised Land soon. #newjersey

The Academy Is… very excited to be closing out the Rebel Stage on the Final night of Riot Fest 2025. As if that wasn’t great enough, we get to share the stage with some old friends and some new friends— It’s like our own little Fueled by Ramen Reunion… See you there!
