I love English before it was standardised. "Sprynkyll" has to be the best spelling of "Sprinkle." (I have highlighted the relevant word in green on this photo)

Thank you to everyone who has listened to Arcane for helping it reach 10k downloads from people in over 85 countries!!! The podcast is still on hiatus until I submit my PhD for defence - but that is weeks away, and I am excited to begin working on it again! More updates to come!

Can anyone direct me to an English translation of Brunetto Latini's “S'eo son distretto innamoratamente” (If I Am Bound by the Chains of Love)? If so, thank you! #medievaltwitter #History #Literature #LGBTQ

What a horrendously sad thing to hear. Her legacy and impact will live on in her impact upon our understanding of early modern history and her influence upon historiography in general.

I am very, very happy to be able to say that today I passed my defence (or “viva” in the UK) with minor revisions. My thesis, "Communing With Nature: Fairies in English Ritual Magic and Occult Philosophy, 1400-1700" will be available shortly, and I'll start making it into a book!

Dr. Tine Rassalle 100% agreed. I was shocked to learn during grad school how many late antique texts (even from famous guys like John Chrysostom) are sitting there untranslated in hard-to-find compendia. A few full-time translators could change the field for decades to come with the right support.
