Everyone, check out this amazing work by Chris Kennedy Claudia von Vacano to identify hate speech online: hatespeech.berkeley.edu. They use IRT and deep learning to output a *continuous* measure for each comment, not just a binary hate/not hate. Really great work 👏👏 Presented TextXD

Rules are predictable, easy to interpret, unsupervised, BUT narrow, hard to adapt.

Absolutely stunning work presented TextXD: A research team measured the *color* of words. Physical sciences are associated with cooler colors, humanities etc. are associated with warmer colors. They're even selling their science as art💙 I. LOVE. IT. #synesthesia
