Computer Science Instructors reviewed the four key elements of computational thinking during #OnRampsPLI and practiced collaborating with the same platforms their students will use this year to create and share code during the course.

Chemistry Instructors at #OnRampsPLI learned how students can perform better and solve problems faster by following Dr. David Laude's calculator-free math rules. With these mental math tricks and skills, students can simplify calculations so they can focus more on being chemists.

UT faculty member Keenan Kidwell led new OnRamps Instructors through a discussion about matrices and demonstrated methods students can use to translate a natural language problem into a mathematical one — an important skill for success in College Algebra. #OnRampsPLI

U.S. History Instructors took on the student role today at #OnRampsPLI to practice taking a quiz. The course incorporates flipped classroom and team-based learning, so students read before class and break into small teams to work through quizzes.

During #OnRampsPLI, Geoscience Instructors joined Dr. Joel Johnson, UT Austin faculty lead, on a deep dive into course content about sedimentary rocks, depositional environments and geologic time. #WhatStartsHere

Collaboration is in action at #OnRampsPLI! During today's Economics session, Instructors split into small groups so those with prior experience teaching students the lesson about comparative advantage could share successful strategies with their peers.

Arts & Entertainment Technology Instructors at #OnRampsPLI discussed user research and testing, UX, UI and design principles. The session was packed with skills and best practices that will be essential for students to complete their first hands-on project: creating a mobile app.
