Thankfully all Ladder 5 Crew members are safe and no bystanders were injured. It was a little rough on the Truck though. Ladder 5 was taken out of service for inspection and crew are utilizing our Reserve Ladder Truck.

THFD made 13,396 emergency responses in 2022 Many of these emergency runs are tiered responses. This means that more than one apparatus responds at a time. This is obvious when it comes to structures fires. We need as many firefighters as we can on those scenes.

When it comes to EMS response, we get the quickest, most qualified EMS personnel to the scene as fast as we can to start life-saving measures. You can always feel safe knowing that your Terre Haute Fire Dept has close to 100 of the 150 firefighters Cross-trained as Paramedics.

Firefighters put a quick 3-4 minute knockdown on this fire today at Greenwood Manor. No extension to other apartments other than smoke & water. Everyone is safe with no injuries which is what we want to always hear. Some residents & pets were displaced and are being assisted.

Firefighters made an extremely quick knockdown on a pair of residences on South 8th Street tonite. THFD still on scene so please steer clear of S. 8th between Oak & Crawford streets.

Today the Terre Haute Fire Department welcomed 11 new recruits. Mayor Duke Bennett swore them in at 10:30 am. These recruits will be hard at work starting a 4-month training academy tomorrow morning. THFD would like to welcome Recruit Class 2023.
