RIP "Johnny Doner" We lost a legend in the farming community today. A lot of us grew up aspiring to be like John. He will be missed.

I started asking my 10 year old son ‘who did you help today?’ instead of asking ‘how was school?’. He now starts his stories with ‘I held the door’, ‘helped a friend with math’, or ‘asked someone to sit with us at lunch’. He is deliberately sharing how he was being helpful.

Took off a plot today and weighed the results with combine’s Active Yield vs our tender. Important call out that one can’t always watch the yield monitor when evaluating strip/small scale trials. Over the course of the whole field they’re accurate but not on individual passes

Be on the look out for spider mites. Fields with drought-like symptoms are a good place to start. The stippling on the leaves is a good indicator to flip that trifoliate over to look for them - your phone lens is a great tool to spot em.
