The new European Society of Cardiology guidelines are the 1st to recommend open repair (Class I) over EVAR (2a) for low-risk elective AAA. Other guidelines either consider both approaches equal or prioritize EVAR. This will likely draw attention to our main societies when writting future guidelines.
