So I thought I'd start Pride month off sharing a personal story.

No doubt you will come across many accounts of folx discussing growing up queer.

My story was no different.

After a childhood of being bullied, I chose to sacrifice my authenticity for safety...

Blending in was my way to survive.

I built life that didn't truly serve me, it didn't represent me - in many ways a facade. That facade started cracking immediately - and I kept patching it up for two decades.

In my late 30s, I decided to pursue therapy and support groups ...

Starting on a journey of dismantling the facade I propped up for so long.

That journey of self discovery and acceptance I started, continues today.

I found strength in embracing who I am and in living my truth.

I'm fortunate to have friends, family and co-workers that love and support me.
