Feels great to line up my first batch of zirconium phosphonate sorbents for a photo. Very excited to characterise them and see how they perform for nuclear waste treatment.

First international trip for my PhD. Heading over to the Canadian Light Source in Saskatoon for some x-ray absorption spectroscopy measurements.

Went to the Royal National Park today for the first time since moving to Sydney at the start of the year. I wish I had decided to visit sooner because it was absolutely awesome.

X-ray absorption spectroscopy beamtime is finally finished at SOLEIL's SAMBA. I'm exhausted, but I collected great looking data with some promising results. Huge thanks to the beamline scientists here; they went above and beyond to ensure the experiment went well.

PDF beamtime finished at SOLEIL synchrotron which marks the completion of my last experiment in France! Returning to Australia next week after 4 and a half months away from home.

Really excited to share that I received a poster award at Q2XAFS for the "Application of XAFS" in my PhD research. It was a great conference and I'm grateful to have the chance to discuss my work with experts in the fields.

Last beamtime done for the year at the new Australian Synchrotron MEX-2 beamline! Marks the completion of 6 beamtimes for me this year including XAS and PDF at France's SOLEIL Synchrotron, XAS and NEXAFS at the Australian Synchrotron, and a remote XAS experiment at CLS in Canada.

Very excited to share that my paper "Probing the high radiation tolerance of minor actinide selective zirconium phosphonate sorbents" has now been published in RSC Journal of Materials Chemistry A! doi.org/10.1039/D4TA08…
