Schipper's Field official opening at #Migfest24 now, with a guided tour from Paul Willoughby covering the habitat management plans. Tour disrupted by a fly-by Wryneck! Please enjoy access strictly from the mown footpaths. After Migfest, access is for Friends of Spurn.

This cracker of a Lesser Grey Shrike at Winterton yesterday evening certainly lifted my mood after dipping Barred Warbler at Burnham Overy Dunes. Yellow Browed Warbler seen well at Holkham, too. LGS and YBW take me to 223 in Norfolk this year! The LGS is my 309th British Bird!

The elusive Pale-legged Leaf Warbler at Bempton Cliffs RSPB reserve today was a challenging bird to hear and see, let alone photograph, as it fed deep in cover. Thrilled to connect with it and catch up with so many old friends.

Sadly 2024 was one of the poorest breeding seasons for Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers since we started in 2015. Only 9 nests were found/monitored & on average only just over one young fledged per nest. This is probably not enough to sustain the population, see woodpecker-network.org.uk/images/Lesser_…

On our way to Cornwall for a weeks birding. As we were nearby, it would've been rude not to stop for the probable Isabelline Shrike at Gillingham this evening! Dorset Bird Club

Toby’s Birding (@tsbirding) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Arrived in Cornwall yesterday lunchtime. Stopped off at Hayle Estuary and had 3 Pink Footed Geese with the Canada's. 6 Cory's Shearwaters past Porthgwarra later on. Cornwall Birds Cornwall Birding

Quieter today. 5 Cory's Shearwater, 4 of which past Pendeen, other past Porthgwarra. The trio of Pink Footed Gesse was still on the Hayle. Thousands of gulls in the Lelant roost, but nothing special. The Choughs performed well at Porthgwarra though!

I wasn't expecting to see much on the nearby list on BirdGuides this morning, but when Red Eyed Vireo appeared, I rushed to Durlston Country Park and had brilliant views of this charismatic bird on our last morning of our trip! Dorset Bird Club
