The American cemetery on a bluff above Omaha beach. A stark reminder, on this 79th anniversary of D-Day, of the sacrifices of the greatest generation on June 6th, 1944 & the days that followed in Normandy.

Coaches, wins are nice but for them to create long term memories & relationships they have to happen because you had the good fortune to coach talented players who were also great people.

Coaches & players- winning is the object of our game but making someone’s day is just as big of win in the game of life.

I enjoyed watching Jerod play at KU. Very fortunate to not having to handle this situation in my coaching career, but if I had to I know it would be impossible to do it any better than this. Great example for every coach at every level.

On this 80th anniversary of D-Day I hope all Americans are as appreciative of the sacrifices and valor of our greatest generation as the citizens of Sainte Mere Eglise. 12,000 marble crosses of American servicemen in the cemetery above Omaha Beach are reminders to us all.

The school visit with our World War II veterans in Normandy, France is always the highlight of the Best Defense Foundation Best Defense Foundation battlefield return program. They have not forgotten their history in northern France. As you can see from the video, it has been passed on.
