As the weather warms up, we look forward to more outdoor outings! Outings provide team-building opportunities & introduce new ways to have fun in recovery! We love this selfie taken by TROSA residents and staff as they visited the beautiful Duke Gardens! 🌼
Shining a light on Durham's HEART program and the opportunity to screen a new documentary at Carolina Theatre next week. We hold a special place in our hearts for this program as a TROSA graduate was part of its inaugural staff! Read about our grad here: trosainc.org/trosa-graduate…
As TROSA transitions to being a tobacco-free campus we celebrate our health partners! Our on-site NP Sarah Cottingham presented at the International Nurses Society on Addictions conference on our work with NCDHHS's Tobacco Prevention and Control, NCQuitline, Duke University School of Nursing and Durham County Department of Public Health (DCoDPH) !
Thank you to Sen. Jim Burgin, staff from Chief Justice Chief Justice Paul Newby's office and the Administrative Office of N.C. Judicial Branch, and leadership from North Carolina Association of County Commissioners for meeting with TROSA residents this week and for thinking of ways to increase access to treatment & alternatives to incarceration.
TROSA staff are attending this year's NC Adult Correction Rehabilitation and Reentry Conference in Raleigh. April is #SecondChanceMonth. We are proud to be part of a continuum of care that gives justice-involved individuals a chance to rewrite their life's story. Thank you #TeamNCDAC!
Those without a high school diploma or its equivalent take classes and exams to achieve this important education goal while in our treatment program. We celebrated this month as our newest GED recipients proudly walked in Durham Tech 's commencement ceremony! Congratulations!
