PTC Eight is still drifting off the coast near Myrtle Beach. The heavy rain continues to be displaced north of the low. We can expect some of this rain to move toward the northeast Midlands late this afternoon and this evening. WACH FOX

Isolated downpours are passing through the eastern and southern Midlands this afternoon. These will gradually dissipate and clear out over the next few hours.

The majority of the Midlands has been upgraded to moderate drought. Most of the area has picked up less than a half inch of rain over the past month, and rain prospects don't look too encouraging for the next week.
