Today would've been the incredible Sylvester's 75th birthday.

Diagnosed with AIDS in 1987, he sought to raise awareness of the impact of HIV on Black communities.

He died of AIDS-related illnesses in 1988 at 41, leaving all his future royalties to HIV charities. RIP Sylvester.
