Here are the best films for every social-distancing mood according to David Sims, whether you're fantasizing about going on the road, feeling like you're living the same day over and over, or longing for human connection: theatlantic.com/culture/archiv…

Reading Camus's The Plague again, always new insights: “What’s true of all the evils in the world is true of plague as well. It helps men to rise above themselves.” True of men & women in hospitals/clinics. Proud of my colleagues.

The word "plague" is spoken for the first time in today's pages. So interesting to see Rieux wrestling with his own consciousness, talking himself out of his darkest thoughts, all filtered through the narrator who knows everything that is about to happen. 1/5

We don't know if H + A (hydroxychloroquine + azithromycin) works vs #COVID19. But we know that combo ->risk for serious heart rhythm disturbances. Now NYU Langone Health's @extrastim et al assessed this in 84 patients treated. Many had a disturbing QTc ⬆️ >40ms medrxiv.org/content/10.110…

My weekend sourdough was ‘H’ to honor heroic housestaff in hospitals all over but specially in NYC and stanford.med. Brings to mind more Albert Camus: “Who taught you all this, doctor?" The reply came promptly:… instagram.com/p/B-p3IrxDx4I/…
