Theme Week at Sydney Academy!!!!

Attention, Wildcats 📣📣 With the beginning of a brand new school year just around the corner, Sydney Academy is ready to kick off September with our annual Frosh week! Taking place from September 9th to 13th, stay tuned for the themes & activities we've got planned!

Hey, Wildcats! Sydney Academy is so excited for a brand new school year! Please note that school starts on Thursday, Sept. 5th. Should you require assistance or have any questions, feel free to ask our student assembly members, who will be in name tags on the first day of school!

Girls Soccer tryouts will take place at the Open Hearth Turf this Thursday and Friday, September 5th and 6th. If you are interested, please ensure that you bring running shoes and any other necessary equipment to play. We're excited to see you there!

Picture day at Sydney Academy will take place between September 11th and 13th. These dates fall on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday next week. Don't forget to bring your brightest smiles for the camera!

Happy Friday, Wildcats! If you're in the market for some brand new school merch, we will be selling 2024 Frosh Week T-shirts every day next week! Shirts are $15, payable by cash only. Pick one up before the first bell in the morning, or during lunch at the school store!

Our first theme for Frosh Week: Middle School Day! Dress in your old Middle School Merch, or as you would in Middle School. Join us for Bingo at lunch to win candy! Frosh Week Shirts will also be for sale at lunch and before first bell - $15, cash only. Don't forget to grab one!

The first practice for Cross Country will take place on Tuesday, September 10th at 5:30 PM at the CBU Track. If you're interested in participating, don't forget to stop by!

Frosh Week continues tomorrow, with Twin Day as our theme! Dress in a matching outfit as a buddy, and join us for movie night in the cafeteria. Movie starts at 6:30 PM, with snacks available for purchase. Also, don't forget to grab a Frosh Week shirt at lunch or in the morning!

Day 3 of Frosh Week is your chance to bring summer to school! Dress in your favourite tropical clothing, and grab a free freezie outside of the main doors during lunch. Don't forget, Frosh Week shirts will continue to be for sale during lunch and before first bell!

The Sydney Academy Golf Team Sign up is now in the main office. If you're interested in representing our school as part of the Golf Team, stop by the office to sign up!!

Hockey Tryouts for the Sydney Academy Hockey Team will take place between September 16 and 22. Tryouts will be held at the Membertou Sport & Wellness Centre. Make sure to attend these tryouts if you're interested in representing SA through the beautiful sport of Hockey!

Our Class of 2025 group photo will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 17th at 9:00 AM. Grads, don't forget to wear Blue & White for the photo!

Drama Club at Sydney Academy is starting up soon! Sign up to be a part of the Drama Club in the office before the end of the week.

Girls' JV Volleyball tryouts will take place in the school gym on September 17th and 18th, from 6-8 PM. If you would like to be a part of the team, please make sure to attend these tryouts. We're excited to see you there!

Frosh Week continues tomorrow with Music Genre Day! Dress in a band tee, tour merch, or as a particular artist. Plus, join us for karaoke during lunch in the music room! Frosh Week shirts are still available at the school store. Don't forget to pick one up!

Sydney Academy is hosting their Terry Fox Walk on Friday, September 20th. In order to participate, you must return a permission slip to the office with a minimum donation of $2. All donations go towards the Terry Fox Foundation. We hope to see you all there!

The 30th of September marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada. Today, the students and staff of Sydney Academy observe this important day, keeping in mind that Every Child Matters. 🧡
