Pro Juventute “Briefli”! In addition to the better known stamps & postcards, PJ sold small holiday greeting cards with envelopes from 1926-1990’s. The designs ranged from kitschy to artsy. This is Zumstein cat. #28, issued in 1940. They make lovely additions to any PJ collection.

Lovely 1934 cover! Pilot W. Mittelholzer flew a Lockheed Orion Zuerich-Naples-Athens-Istanbul-Belgrade-Zuerich (Pfullendorf). This record flight of 4500km 15hours was delayed (bad weather) & aborted in Pfullendorf, Germany. From there mail was brought to Zuerich by train. ✈️

Nice little find! Cross & Shield issued 10/1/1924. “F” error (HFLVETIA instead of the correct HELVETIA). Found this MNH in the 50 cent bin at a local show in the fall. Zumstein CV $65, used CV $120. Good one to keep your eyes open for. 😁🔍

New addition! 1909 cinderella. Features Swiss hero Wilhelm Tell and his son. Beautifully designed with the fascinating and rather disturbing message “ Don’t give children alcohol”. Time to do a bit of research into the Swiss temperance/abstinence movements…

Postal Messengers! Issued 5/10/1960. Part of an interesting series as it came in sheets & coils (with minor differences: sheets on left/coils on right). Also the first time Switzerland experimented with fluorescent tagging (1963/67). 📯

My dad just gave me an awesome gift he came across at a flea market! Beautiful album and an incredible deal. Chockfull of Asia and America (both South and North). One can tell lots of love and effort went into creating it. Beautifully handwritten and drawn. I’ll keep as is 😊

Lovely new colorful addition to my philatelic library! I have a soft spot for CinderelIa’s. I love how they showcase life, especially the first half of the 20th century. The author is a former curator of the Swiss PTT Museum. 🇨🇭

Wonderful 1922 “Planets & Fixed Stars” cinderella stamp series from Tobler Chocolates. 1908 Swiss Chocolatier Theodor Tobler created a process combining chocolate with nougat (honey & almond). Now known as the world famous “Toblerone”. 🍫✨

Just found this! From my inherited ww collection. 1934 official Saar region map. The seal = Voting Commission of the League of Nations. Stamps are overprinted “Referendum”. Cancelled 1/13/1935, the day 90% of Saar voters opted for reunification with Germany! So much to research…

Cool looking stamp! “Ammonite” multi-layer embossed m/s issued 3/5/2015. Ammonites populated oceans between 400 mio. and 65 mio. years ago. They are closely related to the squid family. In Switzerland they are most commonly found in the fossil rich Jura region.

Perfect summer day! Just chilling out with a nice little book. “Basler Dybli”(Basle Dove) is THE iconic Swiss stamp. This 1995 book was written in celebration of the 150th anniv. of its issue. It gives a nice quick overview and includes some beautiful eye candy pictures. 🇨🇭

Lovely “Icarus” sheet ! Overprinted airmail stamps issued 1935-1938 to meet lower surtax rates as flying became more common. “Never regret thy fall, O Icarus of the fearless flight, for the greatest tragedy of them all, is never to feel the burning light.” - Oscar Wilde 🪶☀️

Classic Swiss Cars! Issued 9/3/2015. Pic-Pic, Martini, Tribelhorn & Fischer cars. The Swiss home market is too small for mass producing, but even today Swiss precision & tech. fills a niche market for luxury & exotic cars. Mostly in racing, retrofitting & prototyping. 🚘
