Today, Mrs Monica Geingos delivered the keynote address at the Partners Roundtable convened under the 2gether 4 SRHR Joint United Nations Programme Programme, hosted by H.E. Håkan Juholt, Ambassador of SwedenInSA, in partnership with the Regional Directors of UNAIDS Global, UNICEF & World Health Organization (WHO) in Pretoria, South Africa.

Mrs Geingos shared that the public sector is the crucible in which society’s most intricate and formidable challenges are engaged. It is imperative that we prioritize capacity-building within this sector, channeling talent and resources where they are most critically needed.

Further, she added that initiating dialogues centered around the interests and aspirations of the youth creates foundational engagements that can organically evolve into discussions on SRHR.

The One Economy Foundation exemplified this approach by mobilising conversations across Namibian regions, thereby aligning our outreach with the prevailing concerns of the youth. This strategy facilitated impactful discourse on SRHR, integrating crucial issues into youth-centred dialogues.

Today’s dialogue highlighted the need for comprehensive approaches to SRHR, emphasising the importance of engaging the youth in conversations and providing integrated support. This holistic strategy is essential for driving progress and ensuring equitable access to healthcare.

Looking ahead, United Nations agencies are with Sweden to advocate for sustained investments in SRHR and explore opportunities with the private sector. #PartnershipsForGoals #SRHR #2gether4SRHR
