Talk for Teaching.😀 Mr P MBE Dan Lambert 🙋🏼‍♂️ It continues to be the inconsistencies betwee inspections that drives SLTs to this. Especially if you are a school in a category. I was genuinely told by my mentor. Well done you've jumped through the Ofsted hoop, now you can get on with doing what is right for your children

I was right. The school's closure has *NOTHNG* to do with VAT. The school had previously reported a deficit of £1.28 million in its last full accounts filed in August 2023. Despite efforts to manage resources and attract new students, the school was unable to secure the necessary

Rachael Jefferson, PhD 🇬🇧🇦🇺💃🏃🏼‍♀️🚴‍♀️🙏 It’s also about scrutiny. Having spent some 25 years of my career doing research and teaching research methods I realise how little many people know. But the ResEd cult is more of a denial cult, privileging personal action over scrutiny and scholarship. It’s a denial of progress.

Peter Gates Rachael Jefferson, PhD 🇬🇧🇦🇺💃🏃🏼‍♀️🚴‍♀️🙏 Scrutiny & quality is key. As a teacher you gather insight & nuances from qualitative data. Poor question design is such an issue imo, not enough thought/ time is given. Some of the Q.s you see in local gov consultations are infuriatingly poor.

I agree teachers shouldn't be therapists. But anyone that has worked with children will know they need a lot more than just a lesson plan, a sequenced curriculum and retrieval practice. They need teachers with a large degree of emotional intelligence, warmth & understanding.

Children have evolved to learn from people they're related to for 200,000+ years. Then modern schools were invented 200 years ago & it was the first time in human history children weren't being looked after by their family members. In loco parentis - in place of the parent.

Talk for Teaching.😀 Mr P MBE Dan Lambert 🙋🏼‍♂️ For the next few years it will be the best job in the world again..then we go back into the Ofsted madness and misery again. It's criminal what they do to our profession

Paul ‘world beating’ Hopkins 🙋🏽‍♂️👨🏽‍🔬🧮🖥🦡 And as neuroscientist Prof Richard Davidson points out in his book The Emotional Life of Your Brain, every single logical thought we have passes through the emotional centres of our brain first. Emotions matter enormously for learning.

On the 9th anniversary of her killing, all I want is for Jo’s death not to have been in vain. To be remembered as a moment when we realised the dangers of polarisation, extremism & hate. It doesn’t feel like that at the moment- but she wouldn’t want us to give up. #MoreInCommon

Tes There is excellence in the maintained sector. I do hope that this isn’t overshadowed and overlooked. Some MATs have used their autonomy on curriculum to provide well for pupils, whilst others have narrowed the curriculum, severely curtailing the arts, humanities and PE and sport

Tes That’s right, totally overlook the excellent work going on in the maintained sector yet again! Why do we have such a narrow blinkered look in this country.
