Twenty-seven years ago, I arrived in New York as a refugee. This fall, I will be returning there as an Assistant Professor at Columbia Business School. I am incredibly excited for this next step, and so grateful to my family, friends, and mentors for their support along the way.

I feel like this case is going to make for a meaty addition to the presentations delivered to journalists by attorneys who want to keep them out of trouble for libel/slander. int.nyt.com/data/documentt…

There's much more to say about Fox's conduct in 2020, but let's start with this--every form of misconduct that the Fox prime time hosts accuse the "mainstream media" of committing, they committed in such extreme form that the internal messages read like a form of self-parody.

The actual death toll of yesterday's horrifying tragedy is likely closer to 650. The boat had around 750 people on it and only 108 were rescued. It's yet another sign that you cannot simply deter migration. People will take appalling risks when what they're leaving is worse.

If you believe God moved the bullet but you don’t believe God is bringing immigrants to America, your view of God’s sovereignty is limited to what you want to believe God is doing,

At the Republican convention in 1984, Jeane Kirkpatrick decried Democrats who blamed America for the world's problems -- problems caused by others, chiefly the Soviets. How about Republicans today? I have written a post on the matter -- a painful subject. nationalreview.com/corner/the-new…

I spend a lot of time talking to Afghans who miss their families. Some are moms or dads who haven’t seen their babies in 3 years. Some are young people who miss mom and / or dad. All just wish that we could deliver on the promise to reunite them with their loved ones.

A few years ago, a town about 30 minutes from us had a huge number of Somalian immigrants move in. I don't know how it came about. I know they were brought because of the turkey plant there was struggling in a big way. Like many small towns, finding workers is a huge

Trump and and his team have failed to answer the two most fundamental tariff questions: 1) *What Does Success Look Like?* What's the specific goal and the metric to be accountable to? Is it: - No trade deficit with any country (impossible)? - Other countries cut their
