This is the reality of austerity's impact on our mental health system. A culture of violent neglect. This is not just a statistic - this is fifteen thousand people who deserved so much better.

Shocking as the figure of 15,000 deaths is, it only includes patients who were RECEIVING care from a community #mentalhealth team in 2022-3

It does not include folks who (like me) have been excluded by NHS MH services because of policy of #offrolling SMI patients

Dr Jay Watts Id imagine the crisis team told them to go for a walk or have a hot bath.... Honestly, the crisis team is a joke but that's because it's so poorly funded, all beds are full and there's nowhere to put people who are at risk.

Please tell me I’m misunderstanding this - an NHS psychologist had sex with a patient, tried to cover it up, then only got suspended for 12 months? So she could be back treating patients next year?

This will be the tip of iceberg. The deaths that trusts have recorded accurately. The gathering, categorising, analysis, reporting and use )to prevent deaths/improve care) of mortality data is a shambles in mental health. As we know from NSFT who were able to lose count of deaths

You cannot reliability diagnosis borderline personality disorder in children or adults because it lacks scientific validity.

It is a misdiagnosis of trauma, neurodiversity, autoimmune issues and so on. It is diagnostic overshadowing that compromises people’s dignity + care.

Andi Brierley Children are surprisingly not complex when you connect with them human to human. We all have the same needs after all. They only seem complex because services rigidly adhere to systems and professional boundaries that remove the humanity from their interactions with children.
